Ethnic Evening and Botanical Garden/Jinghong

Ethnic Evening and Botanical Garden in Jinghong

Two other activities in Jinghong region were the evening of ethnic dance and music.
It was a typical Chinese over the top extravaganza.  Wonderful copies of ethnic costumes, Rockette style dance perfection, acrobatics thrilled the packed auditorium of Chinese us.
The evening started with an ethnic dinner with sticky rice, banana leather fruit, spicy fish, light soup, cucumber and peppers, field corn on cob, potatoes and meat, and a custard like dish (savory).

Following the meal was an audience participation dance and dress event in the open air, in photo below.   Then we went inside to auditorium for an incredible performance of dances and music with glorious costumes, rockette style dancers, acrobatics and ethnic legends beautifully choreographed.

Included was the elegant and graceful Peacock Dance of the Dai People, an Akha production, a drum dance of the Yi, and an Aini production.  Very impressive energy and talent with great color.
