OFF TO NEPAL

More Views of the Nepal Setting

 Off to Nepal

October 23, 2012,  11:00.  I am sitting on the Yakima-Seattle land shuttle enroute to the airport and out flight to Kathmandu via Hong Kong.

The journey from door to door is twenty-two hours in air, four in bus and fifteen in airports .   There is an eleven hour time difference between Pacific time zone and Kathmandu.

How good it  feels to be all packed with small suitcases, backpacks, lunches of barbecued salmon sandwiches, apples, Donna's cupcake. nuts, and  energy bars!

   Flight to Kathmandu

12:30 am on Dragon Air with less than an hour and fifteen minutes until we  arrive in Kathmandu with a stop in Dhaka, Bangladesh.  There is a  fifteen minute time differential between Dhaka and Kathmandu!  Strange

All that is left before crashing in bed is going though  customs,  arranging a visa, finding our baggage, buying Nepalese rupees, and a getting transport to our Norbu Linka Hotel in the Thamel district of Khatmandu.

I can hardly wait for the first views of Kathmandu,  Mount Everest at 29,000 feet altitude, and Habitat building site.
